Work Of Art: Lift

Tomorrow's Another Day

I was lying on my back looking up at my ceiling
I was counting all the cracks, I could hear the paint peeling
Down the hall I smelled a fight, I got up to find out why
All I said was ""Please be nice" when they hit me in the eye

It's all right, it's okay, tomorrow's another day
It's all right, it's okay, tomorrow's another day

It was time to walk the dog, I put some ice on my black eye
My head was lost inside a fog, I grabbed my shades and walked outside
I bumped right into my ex, I had no idea what to say
I put my hands in the wrong place, she slapped me hard and stormed away

It's all right, it's okay, tomorrow's another day
It's all right, it's okay, tomorrow's another day

I went home to take a bath, I needed badly to unwind
I took the phones off all the hooks, I locked the doors and shut the blinds
I was floating in the suds when my wife came busting in
She was screaming something about my ex when she kicked me in the chin

It's all right, it's okay, tomorrow's another day
It's all right, it's okay, tomorrow's another day
